Microscopes
We have a range of stereo and biological microscopes for a range of uses. Please contact us for help and advice.
Stereo (or dissecting) microscope
These are usually low-power microscopes which are useful for observing specimens and also for the preparation of slides for use with the biological ‘scope.
Biological (or compound) microscope
These microscopes usually come with a range of objectives (lenses) of different magnifications on a rotatable nosepiece. A specimen is often placed on a glass slide with a drop of water and a cover slip (small glass square) on top. Observation of the sample can then be done at with the low power objective lens and then the magnification increased as necessary. Very high levels of magnification can be acheived (up to 1000x).
